Anyone know yet if that went through? I missed the deadline for submitting my written comment and I'm highly upset at myself.

Re: Equal education policy change?
Tue, May 9, 2006 - 1:53 PMYou probably received this email from Ellen Goldin of the alum association, but just in case, here it is, and it makes me think that the decision is still not final. I'm a little surprised that the policy does not already include this sort of language. I'm glad they're working to amend it.

To the Board of Trustees:
The New College Alumnae/i Association joins with faculty and students to support and affirm adding language to the existing New College Non-Discrimination Policy that would extend protection to members of our community not previously protected. Specifically, we unequivocally
support language changes to include sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression along with all other protected classes.
The NCAA believes that all New College of Florida students, faculty and staff deserve a place to study and work free from discrimination.
Approving the recommended language changes attests to the importance of this
belief and affirms that it will be explicitly practiced and enforced in the day-to-day operations of the College. Therefore, we most strongly encourage the New College of Florida Board of Trustees to approve adding the suggested new language to the College's Non-Discrimination Policy.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the New College Alumnae/I Association and its 3000+ members by:
Ellen Goldin Bill Rosenberg
Executive Director President
